Jaipur: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Vasudev Devnani on Monday said that he has sought central assistance for the restoration and conservation of Taragarh Fort in Ajmer. Devnani said that Taragarh Fort is the identity of Ajmer and reflects the glorious history of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan.
The MLA from Ajmer (North) had recently met Union Minister of State for Art and Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal and raised the demand in this regard. He said that documents and letters have been handed over to the minister along with the demand for allotting a special budget for the security of the fort.
The Taragarh fort was built in the eighth century by Ajayraj Chauhan on a steep hill in Ajmer.Devnani also urged the Union minister to remove obstacles in the construction of the science park in Ajmer. It was started in 2017 during the time of the government, but the present Congress government has kept it hanging for a long time.
