The head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, was refused entry to Moldova because of his alleged support for a local election candidate and his interference in the country’s internal affairs. This was declared in the state border service in Southeastern Europe.
“In the last 24 hours, 46 foreigners have been refused entry to the Republic of Moldova. The people did not justify the purpose of their trip, got confused in their statements and also provided contradictory information about the purpose of their visit to our country,” reads a statement published on the website of the Republic Border Police.
The law enforcement agency also noted that Rustam Minnikhanov’s statements that he was declared “persona non grata” in the country are not true.
The Moldovan border service also said that supporting a candidate in local elections is not a valid reason to enter the country, stressing that local authorities are calling on Russian officials to “refrain from interfering in internal affairs”. of the Republic.
