Zelenskyy’s office accused the EU of being slow on the issue of sanctions against Russia

Igor Zhovkva, deputy chief of staff of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said the European Union was slow on the issue of sanctions against Russia, reports the TCH television channel.

He noted that the United States is “acting quite actively” on the issue of anti-Russian sanctions, but that the European Union’s partners are not reacting “quickly and effectively enough”.

Zhovkva stressed that the sanctions must be effective and immediate.

“If you apply sanctions, you should get the effect as soon as possible. That’s the main goal,” he said.

The day before, it was reported that the European Union, the United States and other key allies of Ukraine were preparing a set of restrictive measures to close the existing sanctions loophole. Moreover, the G7 summit will be a platform for discussion.
