Kiev – It is very important that Poland is one of the main partners in the reconstruction of Ukraine. This was announced on April 5 at a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“We really want the Polish company to be one of the leaders in our market among other partners. We invite. Today, at the business forum, we will strongly emphasize this,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press conference broadcast on the Facebook page of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Ukraine’s president also called on Polish businesses “very intensively” to come in now to restore the country.

“I’m sure Poland is confident in our victory. And that means whoever enters first will earn more,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He also thanked Poland and the Polish people for their support for Ukraine, because “if Ukraine falls, we know that Russia will not stop there and will go further”.

“Ukraine is a warm and friendly country and uncompromising in this war. We will not give up our land, our freedom, our children, not a single child who was forcibly deported by the Russians to the Russian Federation. We will not give up any of this and will not give up the independence of our state,” the Ukrainian President said.

“We see Poland as our true friends, not just partners, but really friends for centuries. (…) I am happy to say that the President of Poland was just as intransigent when he supported Ukraine on the way to the European Union, we received the candidacy thanks to our many partners, but above all thanks to Poland. We thank you for this uncompromising support,” said the leader of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also addressed “all our partners” who are constantly looking for a compromise for Ukraine on the way to NATO, and noted that Ukraine would be intransigent on this issue as well.

He pointed out that during the dialogue with the Polish colleague, the issues of strengthening the Ukrainian army were discussed.

In Warsaw, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received from his Polish counterpart the highest state honor of the Republic of Poland – the Order of the White Eagle.

The leader of Ukraine received an order in recognition of outstanding services in deepening friendly and comprehensive relations between countries, for the development of cooperation in the name of democracy, peace and security in Europe, courage in protecting inalienable human rights, the press service of President Zelenskyy reports.

About Bahmut’s situation

Responding to a question about the situation in Bakhmut, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that it is the most difficult place in our country.

“The greatest use of a different number of weapons, artillery is there. It’s a very, very difficult situation. That is, artillery, that is, there are enough shells on our side, then there are less. It happens every day. That is, success in some blocks of Bakhmut: we move forward, or not – and again we retreat to positions. But we are in Bakhmut, and the enemy does not control Bakhmut. This is the situation today,” underlined Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukraine’s victory is clear

Polish President Andrzej Duda noted that there was no doubt about Ukraine’s victory.

“Interest from business representatives is very high, but that’s not surprising. Before the war, before the Russian invasion, more than a thousand Polish companies were present in Ukraine, and I hope there will be even more in the future. We remember that Ukraine is a huge state, geographically larger than Poland, which has very great natural opportunities, 40 million inhabitants,” said Andrzej Duda.

He also pointed out that “repelling and pushing back the aggressor from Ukraine” will contribute to new economic development between the countries.

“We believe that Ukraine will be in the European Union. We want ordinary Poles and Ukrainians not to feel this border that separates us, so that it is not an obstacle between us and the search for work, development, education, science or in everyone’s life days. It will be a border in the political sense, geographically. But we would like it to be two states cooperating and it to be a community of two peoples,” said Andrzej Duda.

He said that “we are working on a new treaty between the countries”.

“For him not to repeat the records of the previous (contract), it does not make sense. We want it to be a new discovery, many different things that should be written there. And the future will fill this agreement with meaning. We are at the stage of work that is already advanced and we believe that in the near future we will be able to conclude such a treaty, such an agreement between our States and build a new division between our countries with this political act”, declared the President of the Republic. says Poland.

Andrzej Duda also noted that currently eight MiGs have been transferred to Ukraine, and the Polish side is ready to transfer six more such fighters “rather quickly”.

Reliable partner

Vitaly Bala, director of the Situation Modeling Agency, notes that Poland is one of the most reliable partners of Ukraine, a country with which official Kiev has 100% mutual understanding.

“The biggest ally and defender of NATO and the EU in terms of influence. The United States is making a serious bet on Poland. Poland handed over MIG fighters, Germany was the first to encourage EU countries to start handing them over to Ukraine,” Vitaly Bala told the media Russian Service correspondent.

Work on a new agreement between the countries, which was discussed at a press conference of the two presidents, according to Vitaliy Bala, affects many aspects of cooperation between the two countries, including post-war reconstruction from Ukraine.

“Ordinary Poles say this in an interview, that they hope to involve Poland as one of the first to restore Ukraine. But that’s the future. In the meantime, talking about a new treaty seems more chaotic, there are general, beautiful and correct statements, but it is still unclear what it could be,” notes Vitaly Bala.

He believes that one of the main agreements in this case could be a security agreement, which defines the purpose and place of Ukraine in the project.

Historical visit

Political scientist Petr Oleshchuk notes that, in general, this visit confirmed the fundamental importance of the ties between Ukraine and Poland.

“We see that cooperation is continuing in the field of military, military-technical cooperation, there is support for Ukraine in the form of specific weapons, negotiations on weapons that will be produced in Poland for the Ukraine,” Petr Oleshchuk told Voice. of America Correspondent of the Russian service.

After the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine , President Zelenskyy, according to him, rarely travels outside the country.

“There were visits to the United States, to Great Britain, speeches in the European Parliament. Today it is Poland. This is proof of the priorities – each of these visits was significant. It is right that Ukraine pays no less attention to the visit to Warsaw than to the interaction with other countries,” Petro Oleshchuk believes.

He notes that Poland consistently adopts a pro-Ukrainian stance in Europe, demonstrating the priorities of a strategic partnership with Ukraine.
