The United States has expressed concern over Kiev’s use of Western weapons. The Pentagon cannot exclude the possibility that the Ukrainian army will use Western equipment to attack Russian territory, reports the American magazine Foreign Policy.
The United States is not interested in open military conflict with Russia. US Deputy Defense Minister Colin Cole stressed that in the event of strikes with US weapons on the territory of the Russian Federation, the risk of the outbreak of a Third World War increases.
“We have expressed concern that the equipment we have provided could be used to strike targets inside Russia,” the American politician said.
The Pentagon spokesman stressed that the United States was not holding back for fear of an escalation of the conflict. The West is initially not interested in starting a full-scale war, assured Colin Col. US President Joe Biden, according to Kohl, is also promoting such a policy.
Earlier, the Pentagon said US military personnel were not participating in battles in Ukraine. At the same time, the English edition of The Guardian reports that around 100 foreign mercenaries are taking part in hostilities alongside the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 50 of whom are British citizens.
