New Delhi. Volvo Cars India sold 544 units between January and March this year, a growth of 38 per cent over the same period last year. The company had sold 393 units between January and March last year.
The company said in a statement that the maximum contribution to the increase in sales was XC60, whose sales increased by 27 percent. The locally manufactured fully electric XC40 sold 138 units during the period, accounting for 25 per cent of overall sales. Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director, Volvo Car India said, “The 38 per cent growth in sales confirms this that there is good customer interest in our luxury vehicle offerings.
Malhotra said that the company is confident that the results will be even better in the days to come. A new electric model will be introduced every year, he added.
