John F Kennedy’s nephew wins US presidency

Lawyer Robert Kennedy Jr., who is the nephew of the 35th President of the United States John F. Kennedy, announced his participation in the presidential elections of 2024. How informed CNN, the event at which the 69-year-old lawyer announced his intention to run for president as a Democratic candidate took place at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel.

According to CNN, Kennedy Jr. chose Boston as a nod to his family’s deep political roots in that city. “Although his father, Robert F. Kennedy, announced his presidential ambitions in the Senate on Capitol Hill in 1968. His uncle John F. Kennedy also began his presidential campaign in 1960 there.

According to Kennedy Jr., he sees his mission in eliminating the “corrupt nexus between the state apparatus and corporate power”. The slogan of his election campaign was the phrase: “Healing the divide”.

Robert Kennedy Jr. is the son of John F. Kennedy’s brother, Robert, who served as United States Attorney General and New York State Senator. Kennedy Jr. is an environmental lawyer.

Kennedy’s nephew is a longtime opponent of vaccination and founder of Child Health Defence, an organization that opposes vaccination. He has also promoted theses on the link between vaccination and the development of autism.

Robert Kennedy Jr., as an environmental attorney, worked with the Hudson River Cleanup Team and co-founded an environmental law firm.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5, 2024. This will be the 60th presidential election in the country’s history, in which the 47th president of the United States can be elected (in case the current 46th president, Joe Biden , would lose the election). The inauguration of the president-elect is scheduled for January 2025. Joe Biden has not officially announced his intention to seek a second term, but in October 2022 he said he intended to do so. Subsequently, he noted that did not accept a firm decision on the relative nomination of his candidacy. The desire to participate in the elections had already been expressed by former US leader Donald Trump, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, former US permanent representative to the UN Nikki Haley, writer Marianne Williamson and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswami.
