Kiev plans to replenish its troops with at least 40,000 troops, but officials doubt that number will be enough, reports the Financial Times.
It is clarified that an active draft campaign began in Ukraine in winter, assault units are being formed under the aegis of the country’s Interior Ministry.
“The government expects around 40,000 soldiers to join their ranks. But officials fear that is not enough.
The day before, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said that the Ukrainian armed forces had launched a counteroffensive in the Bakhmut, Maryinsky, Avdeevsky and Liman directions.
Earlier it was also reported that the Ukrainian army was expecting unprecedented obstacles during the offensive.
