Sol: A Russian ferry carrying 25 people caught fire on Friday near the South Korean coastal city of Ulsan, leaving four missing. Coast Guard officials have given this information. Officials said the 769-tonne vessel was carrying 100 tonnes of seafood headed for Russia in the waters of Ulsan, some 300 km southeast of Seoul, when the fire broke out.

A news agency reported that all crew members were Russian. After being informed of the distress, the Coast Guard dispatched rescue vessels to the scene, but four crew members went missing. Another 21 were rescued, of whom 19 were not injured. Two have received minor injuries.

To step up rescue operations, South Korea’s military said it sent a transport plane to put out the fire. With the assistance of Navy ships and a Maritime Patrol Aircraft, authorities are continuing efforts to locate the four missing and extinguish the fire.
