Hyderabad. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a public meeting at Chevella near Hyderabad on 23 April. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sources gave this information on Saturday. Sources said Shah’s visit is part of the ‘Parliament Stay Plan’ programme.
Shah is likely to meet some of the key team members of the blockbuster film ‘RRR’ during his visit. BJP leader Shah is expected to felicitate the film’s team for winning the prestigious Oscar award. This year the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’ won the Academy Award in the Best Original Song category. A senior BJP leader said Shah always tries to meet celebrities wherever he goes and as part of the same, the minister had met actors Jr NTR and Nitin during his previous visits last year.
BJP sources said after the assembly elections in Karnataka get over on May 10, the party would focus more on Telangana and take forward its campaign in the state. The political tussle between the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana has escalated in the recent past with war of words between the two parties almost a daily occurrence. The BJP is trying to emerge as an alternative to the BRS. Because it has performed well in the assembly by-elections and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections in the last three years.
