Washington: Resolving to work together with India and other countries to achieve ambitious climate change targets, US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu has said that the world’s success in tackling the climate crisis has been partially driven by India. depend on the decisions taken. He said this in an interview. He said the United States is committed to supporting this effort through technology and financial assistance.

He said, ‘I would say that none of the current issues is more important than the climate crisis. The world’s success in confronting the climate crisis will depend partly on the decisions taken by India.” Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious target on energy, he said, “India will have 500 GW of non-fossil fuel by 2030. We have great respect for the Prime Minister’s (Narendra Modi) resolve to build capacity.

“Our teams are working together on this challenge every day, and I am confident that with not only the United States and India, but India and the rest of the world working together, we will truly reach these ambitious goals,” he added. Responding to a question, Donald Lu said that the future of the planet depends to some extent on India’s ability to lead in the field of green energy.

He said, ‘I like some of the things that India’s leading industrialists are saying today. That is, India will not only produce enough green energy for itself, but India wants to become the largest green energy exporter to the world.” India and the US have a strong bilateral partnership in the energy sector. In April 2021, the US and India launched the US-India Climate and Clean Energy Agenda 2030 Partnership.
