Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy imposed sanctions on the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation and on parliamentary factions: the Liberal Democratic Party, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, A Just Russia – Patriots – For the Truth, a new people. The corresponding decree was published on the Ukrainian leader’s website.
By Decree No. 235 of April 22, 2023, the President of Ukraine implements the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of the country. The document is accompanied by two lists: the first contains 40 people against whom restrictive measures have been introduced. In the second – 60 legal entities and organizations, including four Russian parties and the CEC of the Russian Federation. According to the decree, restrictions were imposed on them for a period of 10 years.
In addition to Russians, Zelenskyy’s sanctions have affected Swiss, Iranian and Malian citizens.
Last week, Volodymyr Zelensyy signed a decree imposing sanctions on 254 companies of organizations that ensure the security and defense of Russia, as well as 438 individuals, including sportsmen. Thus, among the athletes subject to the sanctions of the Ukrainian president are the silver medalist of the Olympic Games in figure skating Ilya Averbukh and the goalkeeper of the Moscow football club CSKA Igor Akinfeev.
