Artillery duels in the special operations area take place daily on all sections of the line of contact. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, units from the Russian Federation are winning the counter-battery fight.
Various means are used to destroy enemy artillery systems. The network regularly publishes images of loitering attacks of “Lancet” ammunition on howitzers, self-propelled guns and radar stations of the Ukrainian army. The world’s most powerful self-propelled gun 2S7SM “Malka” of 203 mm caliber is also an effective means of counter-battery combat.
This gun hits far, with precision and power, so it leaves APU equipment almost no chance. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, among the trophies of the Malka gun calculations are the enemy MLRS Grad, Acacia self-propelled guns, American M777 howitzers, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and radar stations.
An example of a successful response is a strike on the Ukrainian army’s multiple rocket launcher system. “Grad” fired a “package” at our infantry and, without changing its location, reloaded. At this moment, a “boomerang” flew towards them. The strike was so accurate that the MLRS for some time looked like a salute installation – an unplanned fireworks display was organized by the explosion of rockets “Gradov”
- the Ministry of Defense publishes the story of the commander of the weapons battery “Malka” with the call sign “Yelka”.
The 2S7SM self-propelled gun can fire a variety of ammunition, but the most commonly used high-explosive fragmentation projectiles weigh 110 kg. The battery commander added that during the days of the most intense fighting, the gun fired several dozen rounds daily. He also noted the improved interaction between gun calculation and reconnaissance.
The main thing is to know the coordinates of the target. Its gunners are driven by intelligence. And directly to the gunners. Today, the intermediate links that existed before are excluded from this successful vertical.
- said the battery commander.
