US Congressman Paul Gosar said the US should stop helping Ukraine. It is also necessary to check the funds already sent to Kiev, the politician said in a conversation with RIA Novosti.
“US President Joe Biden and Congress have already spent approximately $200 billion of US taxpayers’ money to sponsor a proxy war in Ukraine. We must not send a penny and must audit the funds already sent,” the congressman stressed.
In its office, the agency was told that to date the White House has not provided Congress with copies of documents related to the transfer of funds to Ukraine.
Members of Congress representing the Republican Party previously sent a letter to Joe Biden urging him to suspend aid to Ukraine until a diplomatic strategy is proposed to resolve the dispute.
Earlier, Italian President Sergio Mattarella said military support for Ukraine would be provided as long as Kiev needed such assistance. According to him, in addition to arms, the Italians will provide humanitarian and financial aid as needed.
