Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Municipality (Business Licensing) Rule-2023 (Madhya Pradesh) for the regulation of doing any business within the limits of the cities of the state on 21 April 2023 by the Urban Development and Housing Department. Municipality (Business Licensing) Rule-2023) have been notified. Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh said on Tuesday that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the implementation of this rule has been postponed with immediate effect.
He told that before the coming into force of these rules, the urban bodies, according to the provisions of Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palika Nigam Act 1956 or Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palika Adhiniyam 1961, for regulation of trade at the body level, by setting fees for issuing trade license. The rules have been implemented, they will remain in force as before.
It is noteworthy that after the publication of the new rules, attention was drawn to the anomalies in the rules by the local public representatives of businessmen, business groups and bodies belonging to different cities.
