The Federation Council has authorized the installation of Russian missiles in other regions of the world. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev, on his Telegram channel.
The senator blogged about US plans to deploy its missile systems to other countries. Kosachev points out that the main concern is the appearance of American missiles on Japanese territory.
“In such a situation, the possible lifting of the moratorium on the deployment of missiles by Russia “in various regions” would seem appropriate and proportionate. Such a decision can be made quickly and does not even require legislative formalization, ”writes the vice-president of the Council of the Federation.
Kosachev believes that the current international situation and US intentions pose a threat to Russia’s national security. He notes that Moscow has tried to maintain the agreements on the non-deployment of missiles, even taking into account the American commitment to the withdrawal procedure from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.
Recall that in March, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow and Minsk had agreed to place tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus.
