GWC, one of the fastest growing companies in the region, announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2023. During the three-month period ending March 31, 2023, the company recorded a total profit of QR 61.5 million. The company’s total revenues amounted to 412.7 million Qatari riyals, an earnings per share of 0.105 Qatari riyals, and total assets amounted to 4.8 billion Qatari riyals for the same period ending on March 31, 2023.
On this occasion, Sheikh Abdullah bin Fahd bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, stated: "GWC will continue to grow and diversify its services with the aim of strengthening Qatar’s position as a global and regional logistics hub".
Ranjeev Menon, Group CEO, said: "We look to the future with optimism, as we are working this year to expand our presence in the region by providing specialized logistics solutions." added: "We are currently in the process of completing the second phase of Al Wukair Logistics Park, which will allow micro, small and medium enterprises in Qatar to enhance their chances of contributing to the diversification of the national economy.".
On the other hand, GWC was approved in the first quarter of 2023 as the first approved economic operator for the GCC countries by the General Authority of Customs in Qatar, as the company seeks to provide exceptional value to its customers. This accreditation was preceded by the company obtaining the certificate of the authorized economic operator in the category of customs clearance in 2021 as the first logistic services company in Qatar to obtain it, and it also received an award "The best customs clearance company in Qatar" by the General Authority of Customs. In addition, GWC has been awarded the ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management System Certificate of Conformity by "Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Worldwide" (LRQA) after undergoing a comprehensive assessment process that demonstrated full compliance with the guidelines associated with the risk management standard. In addition, GWC has been honored as "The best operator of logistics systems" At the Digital Commerce Awards in London by the International Chamber of Commerce. Granting this award is an affirmation of GWC’s success in providing leading logistics services during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, as it succeeded in prioritizing deliveries, reducing unplanned deliveries and overcoming difficulties by implementing the Public Distribution Scheduling System (MDS).
