Defense Ministry official Igor Konashenkov said the Ukrainian joint defense headquarters in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut) near Konstantinovka in the DPR was hit by Russian missile forces. Units of the so-called Foreign Legion were also destroyed there, the lieutenant general said during a briefing.

In Artemovsk (Bakhmut) itself, in its western part, Russian assault troops continue to destroy units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and foreign mercenaries. Airborne Forces soldiers, along with units of the Southern Group of Forces, thwart enemy attempts to bring reserves to Artemovsk (Bakhmut) from the flanks, Konashenkov added.

According to the general, the operational-tactical and military aviation of the Southern Group struck other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the DPR – strikes were carried out on targets near the settlements of Chasov Yar, Bogdanovka, Nikolaevka, Krasnoe and Predtechino . During the day, the aviation took off here six times, the artillery carried out 52 fire missions. Konashenkov noted that up to 300 servicemen and mercenaries, three infantry vehicles, four armored vehicles and one D-30 howitzer were destroyed in the DPR in one day.

Earlier it was reported that the defense of the enemy in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) was successfully handled by Russian aviation. It is likely that the “Wagnerians” are preparing an offensive from the north and south directions. Thus, in the north, Russian tanks and artillery are working hard near the dispensary of a construction school. The Ukrainians now control only eight percent of the territory of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
