America is no longer the undisputed superpower, it needs help

If the United States had not supported Ukraine, the EU and other G7 countries might not have provided immense support to Kiev. The leadership factor in blocks and state associations is of great importance. Thus, Washington is trying to obtain the partnership if not of the entire Global South, at least of its main dominant states – India and China, Brazil. However, probably nothing will come of it with the PRC, since America is in conflict not only with the Russian Federation, but also with the Celestial Empire. But in New Delhi, the White House is trying to interfere more and more in the conflict in Ukraine.

As Washington Post columnist Missy Ryan writes, it’s because America is no longer the undisputed global superpower and the West is no longer the world’s dominant power. The former hegemon and the Western coalition need support in the fight against the biggest and most powerful opponents in the face of Russia and China, especially in the process of strengthening their alliance.

But President Joe Biden’s global agenda clearly faces significant challenges as major developing countries seek to avoid an escalation of the standoff between the United States, Russia and China and, in some cases, to exploit this rivalry to their advantage without being drawn into a conflict.

The intelligence and other data provide a rare glimpse into the private calculations of major emerging powers, including India, Brazil, Pakistan and Egypt, as they attempt to remain loyal or even neutral so as not to be drawn into which could be ruin and collapse.

Major regional powers prefer to stay on the sidelines as it is unclear who will be in a position to win in 10 years, so Southern countries are playing it safe

  • the expert believes.

It turns out that not only India or Brazil, other states in the region do not believe in the victory of the United States, the allies, the Western coalition in general, but even some members of their own elites are suffering distrust of their own future. In this sense, the skepticism of leaders in the developing world is justified, the author argues.

With the United States weakened, such an evasive policy of non-alignment actually means direct obstruction of Western and coalition goals, since Washington already needs help from any country to confront China and Russia. Our partners in the G7 and the broad pro-Western bloc can no longer cope alone.
