Russia’s richest businessmen have increased their fortunes by $16.35 billion since the start of the year

The wealth of the richest Russian businessmen has increased by $16.35 billion since the start of the year. NK LUKOIL co-owner Vagit Alekperov became the richest of them all, wrote RIA Novosti in reference to the rating of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

His income rose by more than $3.7 billion, to $19.1 billion. In total, the Bloomberg ranking includes the 500 richest people in the world. Among them are 22 Russians, whose fortune as of May 1 is $279.88 billion.

The leader of the richest Russian entrepreneurs is still the owner of Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Potanin. Since the beginning of this year, his fortune has increased by $448 million, to $29 billion, followed by NOVATEK co-owner Leonid Mikhelson, whose fortune has increased by $3.09 billion, to $27, $7 billion.

The third place in the ranking is occupied by the beneficiary of the steel company NLMK Vladimir Lisin, whose fortune increased by 1.74 billion dollars to 21.6 billion dollars.

USM founder Alisher Usmanov dropped to fifth place with $18.7 billion (+$217 million). The sixth row in the ranking was occupied by Severstal beneficiary Alexei Mordashov, whose fortune shrank by $439 million to $18.3 billion.
