Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrives in Finland to attend Nordic Leaders’ Conference

Helsinki: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is in Finland’s capital Helsinki for a one-day summit of the Nordic countries. Zelensky is expected to meet with the prime ministers of the Nordic countries at the residence of Finnish President Sauli Niinisto. The leaders attending the meeting will discuss their countries’ support for Ukraine. The Nordic countries Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland have strongly supported Ukraine since Russia’s invasion on 24 February 2022.

Leaders attending the meeting at Finland’s presidential palace include Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersen, Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Storr, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Iceland Katrin Jakobsdottir and President of Finland Niinisto. Niinisto said the conference will discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Nordic countries’ continued support for Ukraine, developments related to Ukraine’s relations with the European Union and NATO, and Ukraine’s peace initiative.
