Chennai (Chennai). Due to the excellent performance of the batsmen after the bowlers, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians by 6 wickets in the 49th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Batting first in this match, Mumbai scored 139 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs, in response Chennai won the match by scoring 140 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 17.4 overs.

Chasing the target of 140 runs, the Chennai team got off to a brisk start by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway and both added 46 runs in 4 overs for the first wicket. Piyush Chawla broke the partnership by dismissing Gaikwad on the first ball of the 5th over. Gaikwad scored 30 runs in 16 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Chawla gave second blow to Chennai by LBW to Ajinkya Rahane on a total score of 81 in the 9th over. Rahane scored 21 runs. Ambati Rayudu could not do anything special and became the victim of Tristan Stubbs after scoring only 12 runs. When the Chennai team was 10 runs away from the target, Akash Madhwal gave Conway LBW and gave Mumbai the fourth success. Conway scored 44 off 42 balls with the help of 4 fours. After this, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Shivam Dubey did not allow any further damage and the team won by 6 wickets in 17.4 overs. Dhoni made the winning shot for his team. Shivam Dubey remained unbeaten on 26 and Dhoni scored 2 runs in 18 balls due to 3 sixes. For Mumbai, Piyush Chawla took 2 wickets, Tristan Stubbs and Akash Mandwal took 1-1 wickets.

Earlier in this match, the Mumbai team, batting first, scored 139 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Nehal Vadera scored maximum 64 runs from Mumbai side.

In the match, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai had a poor start and Cameron Green (06), Ishaan Kishan (06) and captain Rohit Sharma returned to the pavilion for only 14 runs. However, after this Nehal Vadera played a brilliant half-century innings of 64 runs to bring Mumbai back into the match. Apart from Nehal, Suryakumar Yadav scored 26 and Tristan Stubbs scored 20 runs. Apart from these three, none of the Mumbai batsmen could reach double digits. Mumbai team scored 139 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Mumbai scored 46 runs in the last 5 overs and lost wickets.


For Chennai, Mathisha Pathirana took 3, Deepak Chahar and Tushar Deshpande took 2-2 and Ravindra Jadeja took 1 wicket.
