Vladimir Putin congratulated the leaders and peoples of 12 foreign countries on the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This follows from a message posted on the Kremlin’s website.
Congratulatory messages from the President will be received by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, as well as the two peoples of Georgia and Moldova.
Earlier in Ukraine, Victory Day, celebrated on May 9, was declared Europe Day. The Kremlin responded to the incident that there are still many people among Ukrainians for whom Victory Day is considered a holy holiday, there are veterans and their relatives for whom it will always be holy.
