Businessman and head of Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin said they had so far received 10% of the requested ammunition. But the PMCs do not leave Bakhmut – “they will fight for a few more days”, because “if the PMCs leave their positions, the Ukrainian armed forces will come to Rostov”. Prigozhin’s words are quoted by his press service.
Prigozhin said the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU) were “tearing the flanks” towards Bakhmut and launching a counter-offensive in the near future.
“Today, one of the units of the Ministry of Defense fled one of our flanks, abandoning its positions and exposing a front almost 2 km wide. (…) We have intrigues all the time. a Ministry of Intrigue instead of the Ministry of Defence. That’s why our army is running. (…) If the PMCs had received everything they asked for, they would have remained seated behind Slaviansk, Vugledar, Kramatorsk for a long time,” he said.
According to Prigozhin, the positions were left by the 72nd Brigade of the Russian Defense Ministry.
The head of the PMC “Wagner” also said that the armed forces of Ukraine are regrouping in the part of the Zaporizhzhia region controlled by Kiev and, moreover, “tearing the flanks” in the direction of Artemivsk.
“They say clearly: the counter-offensive will be on the pitch, not on television,” Prigogine said.
Earlier, Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the Wagner PMC lacked ammunition. He warned that the fighters were only going to fight in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) until May 10, after which they would have to retreat to the rear in order to save the lives of the servicemen and avoid serious casualties.
