Hungarian Prime Minister announces that the EU is ready to discuss sending peacekeepers to Ukraine

October 3, 2025

EU countries are already on the verge of discussing sending peacekeepers to Ukraine. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced this on Kossuth radio.
“We are close to the fact that in the conversations of European leaders, the question of whether EU member states can send peacekeeping troops in any form, or better not to send, has become legitimate and accepted. We are close to this previously impassable border,” he said.
According to him, at the same time, a year ago, there was a dispute within the European Union over whether lethal weapons could be sent to Kiev. He recalled that the Hungary of yesterday and today “said no”.
“But Western countries also hesitated. Now that’s not a question. Now the question is only tanks, or how many planes, or shells containing elements containing uranium, or troops,” Orban said. The article Hungarian PM announces EU ready to discuss sending peacekeepers to Ukraine
