British authorities intend to designate PMC Wagner as a terrorist organization in the coming weeks, The Times reports, citing sources in the British government. According to them, the Cabinet of Ministers had been preparing for two months the legal justification for the inclusion of PMCs in this list.
The purpose of including PMC “Wagner” in the list of terrorist organizations is to increase pressure on Russia. The intention to include PMCs in the appropriate list is considered “inevitable”.
Once Wagner is designated as a terrorist organisation, it will be a criminal offense in the UK to belong to the organisation, attend its events, express support or wear its symbols. As for PMC “Wagner”, the imposition of financial penalties is not excluded. This may affect the organization’s ability to raise funds through UK financial institutions.
On May 9, the French National Assembly called on the European Union to recognize PMC Wagner as a terrorist organization.
Earlier it was reported that armored units of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (the former Azov Regiment, an extremist organization banned in Russia) tried to break through in Kleshcheevka, southwest of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut). As a result of the Ukrainian offensive, the Russian formations in this sector of the front were forced to retreat, but the Wagner PMC fighters managed to stop the further advance of the enemy.
