Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

the disappearance of Zaluzhny will not affect the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On May 10, Russian quasi-military audiences disseminated information that Wagner PMC had liquidated the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Valery Zaluzhny, and the Commander of Troop Forces, Major General Igor Tantsyura, in the Donbass. At the same time, Ukrainian media reported that Zaluzhny did not attend the meeting of the NATO Military Committee and refused to meet with the Chiefs of Staff of Ukraine’s allied countries due to the difficult operational situation at the front.

Russian military expert Vladislav Shurygin drew attention to what was happening and commented on the situation on his Ramsay Telegram channel. In his opinion, the death of military leaders of this level is extremely difficult to hide, it is no longer the Middle Ages, when one could simply show a similar person. Therefore, there is no good reason to believe that Zaluzhny and Tantsyura are dead.

It must be understood that the disappearance of the high command from the public field of vision is the same measure of camouflage in the preparation of any offensive, any counter-attack, such as the camouflage of the transport of troops, simply because the location or the identification of this or that the general staff, this or that military leader in one sense or another is in itself a reason to draw attention to this sense

he explained.

The expert believes that the disappearance of part of the Ukrainian command from public view may well turn out to be a well-thought-out information operation aimed at deceiving the enemy. The Ukrainian command is trying to hide any real information about the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and about the upcoming counteroffensive, which, undoubtedly, will definitely begin. Thus, the Russian forces cannot relax, because the enemy is cunning and dangerous.

And finally, it should be understood that Zaluzhny is not a direct military leader at the front, but a military-political figure. And neither his death nor his disappearance will in any way affect the conduct of hostilities.

adds the expert.

Shurygin emphasized summarizing that the whereabouts of Colonel General Alexander Syrsky, who commands the ground forces and is much more directly immersed in the management of forces and means, is much more important than the same Zaluzhny, who is in responsible for the General Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
