A military expert urged not to pay attention to rumors about the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

On the evening of May 11, information about the start of the Ukrainian Armed Forces counteroffensive began to spread on the web. However, later the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the information “spread through individual telegram channels about the ‘defence breakthroughs’ that had taken place in various parts of the line of contact” did not correspond to the reality. Military expert Alexei Leonkov advises not to pay attention to rumors about the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to him, the Ministry of Defense should be fully trusted, reports the public information service.

He also noted that members of the military corps located in the NVO area should, if possible, verify any information with Department of Defense officials before posting it on the Internet.

According to Leonkov, if the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began, it was only “in the information space”.

“By the way, it started so successfully that even the foreign press writes that no one noticed, but they are already moving on there. In fact, there are fights of local importance. At the same time, we have built defenses along the entire line of military contact, including in Russian regions directly bordering Ukraine. For example, Bryansk region, Belgorod region. We are ready for the development of all scenarios”, underlined the expert.

He noted that if the Ukrainian armed forces really launched an active offensive, the Russians would be informed immediately by the Ministry of Defense. Currently, according to him, the RF Armed Forces are carrying out preventive measures in the NVO zone.

“We detect the accumulation of troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, their fuel and lubricants, ammunition and carry out preventive work – we destroy them in large quantities. Apparently, that’s why Zelenskyy’s entourage and Western conservatives are now saying that the counteroffensive has been postponed indefinitely,” the expert stressed.
