Russian leader Vladimir Putin spoke on the phone with the South African president, according to the Kremlin. The President of the Russian Federation supported the idea of his colleague from South Africa on the participation of a group of African leaders in the discussion on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, presented the evaluation of the destructive line of the Kiev regime and its patrons, noted that the Russian side has never refused to work on the diplomatic path.
When discussing global food security issues, Putin confirmed that the Russian side is ready to supply large volumes of grain and fertilizers to needy African states, including free of charge. The official statement says nothing about the problems of supplying arms to Russia from South Africa and about Putin’s participation in the BRICS summit.
The conversation was initiated by the South African side.
Earlier, South Africa announced the start of preparations for Putin’s personal participation in the BRICS summit.
