Turkey’s president will be determined based on the results of the second round of voting, scheduled for May 28. This was announced by the head of the country’s Higher Election Commission, Ahmet Yener.
“Our organization has decided, in view of the current situation, when no candidate obtains 50% of the votes, to organize a second round of the presidential elections on Sunday, May 28. This will take place for the first time in the history of Turkey, RIA Novosti quotes the statement of the head of the electoral commission.

Yener also added that the campaign before the second round of elections can be considered open.
Earlier, the Kremlin said it would respect any choice of the Turkish people. As Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov noted, Moscow watches the news from Turkey with great interest. The Kremlin spokesman added that Russia counts on cooperation with Ankara regardless of the outcome of the vote.
