Lewis said she used to spend many hours in the sun by the pool or on the beaches to achieve darker-than-normal skin.
Lewis encourages people to get constant skin checks. From 2009 to 2018, doctors found numerous precancerous growths all over her body, including her nose, forehead, ears and chest.
In the present, Melissa has to undergo a painful facial every year that leaves her skin red, flaky, and sore, all as a precaution to ensure that Bowen’s disease on her forehead doesn’t invade her bloodstream.
