Therapist and TV presenter Elena Malysheva and her co-host cardiologist German Gandelman on the air of the program “Live healthy!” explained to the Russians that there is no direct connection between headache and hypertension.
According to experts, with a headache, you should not take pills for hypertension, even if you feel well. Therefore, it is a mistake to associate a headache with high blood pressure, this can lead to a significant deterioration in health.
According to Gandelman, hypertension is an asymptomatic disease because the brain vessels, where pressure can cause a stroke, do not have pain receptors. In addition, together with Elena Malysheva, he refuted the notion that high blood pressure need not be reduced if the patient feels well.
“Normal pressure is the same for everyone – 120 to 80 millimeters of mercury, such pressure should be in a person who does not have hypertension, and in hypertensive patients on drug treatment,” the doctor said.
The longer the body is exposed to high pressure, the higher the risk of dangerous consequences. Often it is against the background of high blood pressure that a stroke occurs.
