The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, said that Russia does not see on paper the proposals of partners from Brazil and Africa to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.
He explained that the Russian side responded to the Brazilian initiative and the South African initiative. Moscow is ready to consider any proposal dictated by a sincere desire to help stabilize the world order.
“But so far, unlike our Chinese neighbours, neither the Brazilians nor the Africans, we haven’t seen anything on paper,” Lavrov told a news conference after talks with the Belarusian Foreign Minister Sergei Aleinik.
The Minister stressed that Western countries insist that they are ready to consider only Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s “peace plan” as part of a settlement around Ukraine, but do not accept the initiatives that Russia is ready to discuss.
Earlier, the South African President said that Africa has prepared its peace plan for Ukraine, which Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy are already aware of.
