Siddaramaiah is expert in handling electoral politics as well as governance. In 1985, he was a minister in the Ramakrishna Hegde government of the Janata Party. Then he impressed people with his working style. He has contested 12 elections so far and has won nine.
Siddaramaiah was born on August 10, 1948 in Siddaramahundi village of Mysore district. He comes from a farmer family. He holds a B.Sc degree from the University of Mysore. Parents wanted Siddaramaiah to become a doctor, but he preferred to become a lawyer by studying LLB from Mysore University itself. Entered politics in the year 1978.
