This morning the first passenger plane in four years left Moscow for Tbilisi – the countries have resumed air traffic. The plane took off from Vnukovo airport.
The Georgian delegation, which conducted a dialogue in Moscow on this issue, called on the people’s demand to resume air communication between Moscow and Tbilisi. Merab Chikashvili, president of the Solidarity for Peace organization, in an interview with Zvezda, also stressed the importance of this event for the country’s economy.
A few days ago, the visa regime for Georgian citizens was also canceled. Thus, the document will not be required for citizens of Georgia whose trip to the Russian Federation does not exceed 90 days.
Recall that earlier the US State Department warned that Georgian companies could expect restrictions for air communications with the Russian Federation.
