The China-Central Asia Summit, held in Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province, China, focused the attention of the international community. Pakistan’s Industry Minister Tasneem Ahmed Qureshi said that China, being a developing country, understands that developing countries should get fair opportunities for development. Mustafizur Rahman, former executive director of Bangladesh’s renowned international think tank Center for Policy Dialogue, said the Central Asia region has become a role model for the high-level construction of the Belt and Road. The volume of China Railway Express has set a new record, reducing transportation costs and increasing business convenience. Bangladesh wants to strengthen cooperation with China in connectivity, trade and investment and learn from Chinese-style modernization.
Afghanistan’s Lead Radio correspondent Fakir Mohammad Fakirzai said that China plays a very important role in promoting the economic development of Central Asia and maintaining regional stability. In the ten years following the presentation of the Belt and Road Initiative, cooperation between China and the five Central Asian countries enhanced the development of the region. The cooperation between China and Central Asia will play an active role in the resolution of the Afghanistan issue, and will be vital to regional security and stability, and even to the peace of the whole world.
