After the completion of the hard work of liberating Artemovsk (Bakhmut) by the PMC Wagner assault squads, the authorities will have to solve many problems in order to bring the city back to life. Military expert Alexei Leonkov spoke to the VZGLYAD newspaper about the next steps in the liberated city.
First of all, it is necessary to clear the territory of the city and provide all necessary assistance to the civilian population. Acting head of the DPR Denis Pushilin has already announced the start of demining work in Artemovsk (Bakhmut). Civilians awaiting release must receive medical assistance and be evacuated to a place of safety.
First, the city needs to be cleaned up. It is impossible to say exactly how long this will take, as the territory has been in enemy hands for too long. Along with this, it is important to comb through every meter of the settlement, inspect every basement in order to find civilians who remained in Artemovsk (Bakhmut)

The restoration of the city, according to the expert, will begin after the Ukrainian armed forces move away from the city by several tens of kilometers. After 224 days of hostilities, Artemovsk (Bakhmut) was in fact destroyed, the city had to be rebuilt.
Most of the remaining buildings are likely to be demolished. In fact, due to the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Artemovsk (Bakhmut) will have to be rebuilt from scratch

But before starting the development of the city, the Russian army will have to liberate Chasov Yar, as well as completely clear Konstantinovka and Seversk. However, this will not be easy to do, because the Armed Forces of Ukraine have created powerful fortifications here and gathered equipment and a large number of military personnel.
The enemy is still close and can attempt small counterattacks after the withdrawal of Wagner PMC units from Artemovsk (Bakhmut). However, the expert expressed confidence that the RF Armed Forces will cope with the task of further ousting the enemy from the territory of the DPR.
