The Ukrainian side has acknowledged the role of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the DRG attack on Russia’s Belgorod region, reports The New York Times, citing a Ukrainian official. It is also stated that Ukrainian troops supported the sabotage group.
A senior Ukrainian official said that the Ukrainian armed forces served mainly as support, protecting the Ukrainian border in this area in the event of a Russian counterattack.
According to the official, not a single Ukrainian serviceman entered the territory of Russia. At the same time, he said that there were losses among the saboteurs.
Also, the official did not answer the question of where the saboteurs came from with American equipment.
The day before, the Ministry of Defense said that Russian servicemen, during an anti-terrorist operation in the Belgorod region, defeated nationalist formations that invaded Russian territory.
