Romania will bear the cost of training Ukrainians to fly American F-16 fighter planes, reported by the UNN of Ukraine.

It is noted that Romania, among other things, bears the costs of accommodation, food, transportation of Ukrainian military personnel, fuel consumed during the training process, the provision of special equipment, and other related goods and services.

The document from the Romanian Ministry of Defense does not provide an estimate of training costs but only states that no additional funds will be required beyond those already approved in the department’s budget.

Politico reported that the Ukrainian military may receive more than 60 American-made F-16 fighters this summer. Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium plan to send more than 60 aircraft to Kyiv.

According to Politico, the administration of US President Joe Biden informed Kyiv that it does not have enough places in the pilot training program in Arizona. As a result, the United States was not prepared to train more than 12 trainee pilots at a time, according to three sources.
