Washington: US President Joe Biden’s family is planning to host an intimate dinner for Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 21 and a day later a state dinner will be held at the White House, the official residence and office of the US President. A senior US administrative official gave this information. Joe Biden and US First Lady Jill Biden have invited Modi for an official state visit. An official familiar with the plans for the high-profile visit said the historic visit would see an impressive reception at the South Lawns on June 22 and a state dinner at the same venue later in the night, which would feature elaborate entertainment. Will happen.

The official said that ‘there will be a very important reception on the lawn of the White House. I hope that the night before, Prime Minister Modi, President Biden and the Biden family will have an opportunity to sit together and talk intimately for some time. It has not yet been told where this dinner will be organized. Soon after his arrival in the US, Prime Minister Modi will participate in an event to mark the International Day of Yoga on June 21 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and will then reach Washington DC.

June 22 will be a busy day during Modi’s visit and a state banquet will be organized at the end of the day. Tents are likely to be set up on the South Lawns of the White House to accommodate the large number of invited guests for the occasion. The guest list is usually released on the evening of the state banquet. It is estimated that people who are stakeholders in the relationship between the US and India have been invited to this state banquet. The official said, ‘I think the relationship between India and the US will be celebrated during the state dinner and it will be attended by allies from across India and the US. This will be a very popular event. Hardly a day goes by when we don’t get requests from people to buy the last tickets for state dinners. I think it will be a great event.

On June 23, US Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of State Antony Blinken will host a lunch for Prime Minister Modi at the ‘Foggy Bottom’ headquarters of the State Department, the official said on condition of anonymity. The official said that many programs will be organized during this visit of Prime Minister Modi. He said, ‘The Prime Minister has asked to make a very concrete program and that is what we have done. We have planned as many events as possible for them, which in many ways explains why we consider the US-India relationship so important. Will issue information about in the coming days.

The officer said, ‘But I tell you it’s going to be very special. It would be a fitting way to show the close partnership between the two leaders.” The number of guests invited to the state dinner has been kept secret, but the official confirmed that the number of guests would be more than 120. The State Dining Room, the traditional venue for state banquets at the White House, has a capacity of 120 people. Meanwhile, Indian-Americans are quite excited about Modi’s visit. Hundreds of people from across the country are preparing to come to Washington DC next week to participate in various travel-related events. Due to this, the prices of hotel rooms and plane tickets have suddenly increased. While no one knows the exact number of visitors, thousands of Indian-Americans are planning to be a part of the historic reception at the White House on the morning of June 22.

Several community organizations such as the ‘Federation of Indian Associations’ have organized special bus services that will bring community members from the New York and New Jersey areas. Buses from several cities in New York and New Jersey will leave early on June 22 to get to the White House in the morning, in time for the reception. Hundreds of Indian-Americans plan to gather at Lafayette Square Park opposite the White House to welcome Modi on June 21. The Indian-American community will host a dinner for the Prime Minister on June 23 at the Ronald Reagan Building.
