India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to America is being discussed in the media all over the world. This tour has also received a lot of attention in the American media. PM Modi went to America as a state guest for the first time.

Apart from this, questions related to the rights of minorities in India, democracy and alleged attacks on Pros were also asked during PM Modi’s visit and these questions have also been raised prominently by the American media. About half a dozen Democrats MPs boycotted PM Modi’s speech in the American Congress.

Among them, Rashad Talib from Michigan, Little Bush from Missouri, Illan Omar from Mine Sora and Jamal Kakes from New York gave a joint statement boycotting Modi’s speech. In the past decade, it was rare for Modi, a nationalist prime minister, to take a reporter’s question directly. In response to a question asked from Modi about the rights of minorities and democracy in India, Modi said that democracy is in India’s DNA and no one is being discriminated against on the basis of religion.

CNN writes in its report – Modi’s popularity is tremendous in India but his inclination towards authoritarianism worries the West. He has rejected the disagreement. Journalists have been targeted and the policies they have put forward have been described by human rights groups as discriminatory against Muslims.
