Israel bombs Beirut again: Very violent attack on Dahieh region in Lebanon

Israel has once again targeted Dahiyeh, south of Beirut.

Israel has once again targeted and bombed Dahiyeh, a neighborhood south of Beirut. The Israeli army has called on residents of certain buildings in southern Beirut to evacuate immediately.

The Israeli Army has been continuing its attacks on Lebanon since September 23. Israel, which has been launching a ground operation in Lebanon for the past few weeks, continues its intense bombardment of various parts of the country.

It was learned that the Israeli Army launched a bombardment on the area near the airport in Beirut following the warning message.

It was reported that there were loud explosion sounds and the Israeli Army hit the area with heavy bombardment immediately after the statement.

“Evacuate the South Beirut” call was made

The Israeli army called for “evacuating southern Beirut” during the night. Then, Israel’s bombardment of Beirut resumed.

Lebanese media reported that Israel carried out five airstrikes on southern Beirut and its surroundings, four of which were described as “very severe”.

The attacks came after the Israeli army called on civilians in the area, known as a Hezbollah stronghold, to evacuate.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), “Israeli warplanes launched four heavy strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut and another strike on the Chweifat area.”

It was reported that ambulances were dispatched to the scene.

Leader of the al-Qassam brigade killed

Saeed Atallah, a leader of Hamas’ armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, was killed along with three of his family members in an Israeli attack on a Palestinian refugee camp in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli, a Hamas-affiliated media outlet reported. Israel has not commented on the attack.

Israel’s increasing attacks

The Israeli army, which has been engaged in controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023, launched hundreds of airstrikes on southern Lebanon’s cities, as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions, on September 23.

According to Lebanese authorities, a total of 1,411 people, including 104 children and 194 women, have been killed since September 17, when Hezbollah’s communication devices were detonated.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in airstrikes on Beirut by the Israeli army on September 27.

Hezbollah is responding to Israel with rockets and missiles. No major damage was reported in these attacks, which mostly targeted army bases on the Israeli side.

Hundreds of thousands of people were displaced within the country due to the Israeli bombardment.

While the wave of migration from the southern parts of the country to the capital Beirut and the north continues, it is reported that tens of thousands of people have migrated to Syria.
