Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Iran ready to retaliate against Israel: List of military targets is ready

Tensions in the region continue following Israel’s airstrikes on Iran on October 26. According to a report in the US press, Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei inspected the damage caused by the attacks and ordered Israel to retaliate. It was claimed that the response could be postponed until after the US elections.

Israel’s airstrikes on Iran on October 26, targeting military points, increased tensions. Iran’s possible response to these attacks is drawing attention with claims reflected in the US and Israeli press.

Three Iranian officials familiar with the war plans told to media that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had instructed the Supreme National Security Council to prepare for an attack on Israel.

Khamenei decided after senior commanders reviewed detailed reports on the damage caused to the country’s missile production capacity, as well as air defense systems around Tehran, critical energy infrastructure, and the main port in the south following Israeli attacks.

According to the Times of Israel, Khamenei said the scale of the attack and the Iranian military casualties were “too large to ignore” and that not responding would mean accepting defeat.

The attack will be made after the US elections

According to the report, Iranian commanders said they had prepared a list of military targets inside Israel, but that the attack would most likely occur after the US presidential elections on November 5, because Iran is concerned that increasing tension and chaos in the region would benefit the election campaign of Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump.

According to Reuters, Iran is preparing to launch a major retaliatory strike against Iraq within days in response to the October 26 attack on Tel Aviv.

According to a report published on Israel’s Walla news website and based on unnamed officials, it has been suggested that Iran may retaliate before the US presidential elections to be held on November 5. It was reported that Israeli intelligence expects Iran to retaliate against Tel Aviv “from Iraqi territory.”

The source added that the recent Israeli strikes on Iranian missile production facilities and air defense installations have “created a dilemma for Tehran” as its capability to strike Israel and defend against future Israeli strikes has been degraded.

According to CNN, Iran would carry out a “definitive and painful” response to Israel’s recent attack, citing a high-ranking source. The source on Wednesday did not provide an exact date for the expected attack but said it “will probably take place before the day of the US presidential election.”

The news also included comments that Iran was expected to launch a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missiles from Iraq and that the retaliation could be carried out “through pro-Tehran groups in Iraq rather than through Iranian territory”, an attempt to prevent a possible Israeli attack on strategic targets in Iran.

What Happened?

Israel announced that it targeted military points in Iran on October 26 in retaliation for the missile attacks on October 1 and that the attack was completed successfully.

Iran had announced that some military points in Tehran and the western provinces of Khuzestan and Ilam were targeted by air strikes and that its air defense systems successfully countered the attacks, but limited damage occurred at some points.

It was announced that 4 soldiers and 1 civilian were killed in the attacks. The Tehran administration announced that there would be retaliation for Israel’s attack on October 26
