Shameful – Trump orders to evacuate Gaza of Palestinians, supports Israel’s act of ethnic cleansing

US President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to take control of Gaza and relocate its Palestinian population has triggered widespread condemnation from human rights organizations, the international community, and regional leaders. Critics warn that the plan amounts to ethnic cleansing and risks further destabilizing the Middle East.

Trump’s proposal, which suggests that Palestinian residents of Gaza be temporarily moved to neighboring Arab nations while the territory undergoes redevelopment, has been widely interpreted as an attempt to forcibly remove Palestinians from their homeland. The plan has drawn parallels to historical instances of mass displacement and forced population transfers that have been condemned under international law.

The backlash against Trump’s idea has been swift and decisive. The United Nations, European Union, and numerous governments across the Middle East have voiced strong opposition, warning that any forced removal of civilians violates human rights conventions and could exacerbate existing tensions. Meanwhile, grassroots movements and civil society organizations have mobilized in response to Trump’s remarks. Protests erupted in major cities across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States, with demonstrators accusing the former president of endorsing ethnic cleansing. The Haaretz editorial board also criticized Trump’s proposal, warning that it would only deepen regional hostilities and provoke further conflict.

Key Middle Eastern nations, including Saudi Arabia and Jordan, have outright rejected Trump’s proposal. Jordan’s King Abdullah II condemned any attempt to forcibly relocate Palestinians, stating that his country “will not be complicit in any plan that denies Palestinian sovereignty.” Saudi officials also warned that such a move could ignite further conflict in an already volatile region.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan emphasized that any forced displacement of Palestinians would be “a gross violation of human rights and a destabilizing act that the Kingdom firmly opposes.” He reiterated that Saudi Arabia remains committed to a peaceful resolution based on the two-state solution.

The European Union and several Latin American countries have also voiced strong opposition. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell reaffirmed that Gaza is an integral part of any future Palestinian state and denounced Trump’s remarks as “irresponsible and dangerous.”

Meanwhile, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador have both condemned the proposal, calling it a violation of international law and warning that it sets a troubling precedent for global conflicts. “We cannot allow any nation, no matter how powerful, to redraw borders through forced displacement,” Lula stated.

International publications have extensively criticized the actions of both the US and Israel in relation to this issue. The Guardian described Trump’s proposal as “a dangerous precedent that reinforces Israel’s long-standing goal of erasing Palestinian self-determination.”

Charter says: “All members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of any state.”

The New York Times published an editorial stating, “Trump’s vision for Gaza ignores the deep-rooted humanitarian crisis caused by Israeli airstrikes and years of blockade. Any forced displacement must be condemned.”

Analysts suggest that Trump’s proposal is politically motivated, designed to secure the support of pro-Israel voters ahead of the 2024 presidential election. His strategy echoes his previous foreign policy maneuvers, such as the controversial Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations while sidelining Palestinian interests.

Critics argue that Trump is using the suffering of Palestinians for political gain while bolstering Israeli interests at the expense of human rights. “This is not diplomacy—it’s a reckless gamble with people’s lives,” said Noam Chomsky, a renowned political analyst. Others point out that Trump’s track record shows a pattern of prioritizing electoral gains over long-term geopolitical stability, further cementing his alignment with Israeli policies at the cost of Palestinian rights.

As global condemnation mounts, the fate of Gaza remains uncertain. With ongoing Israeli military aggression and Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric, Palestinians in Gaza continue to suffer in a humanitarian catastrophe with no relief in sight.
