Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela marked their 14th wedding anniversary on June 14 by sharing the first public photograph of their twin children, Shiva Ram Konidela and Anveera Devi Konidela. The image, posted to both their Instagram accounts, showed the tiny hands of all three of their children held together, with the caption “Heart is full” followed by an infinity symbol.
The twins were born on January 31, 2026 in Hyderabad. Their names were revealed at an intimate naming ceremony on February 13, attended by close family including Ram Charan’s father, megastar Chiranjeevi, and mother Surekha Konidela. In a photograph from the ceremony, Chiranjeevi and Surekha were each holding one of the twins while Ram Charan held their eldest daughter, Klin Kaara.
Explaining the name of their son, the couple wrote that “Shiva Ram is a profound confluence of two eternal ideals,” reflecting “inner strength, spiritual depth and stillness” alongside “righteousness, compassion and moral courage.” Their daughter, Anveera Devi, carries a name the family has not publicly elaborated on but which follows the Konidela tradition of names rooted in Telugu literary and spiritual heritage.
Ram Charan and Upasana married on June 14, 2012 in Hyderabad. The couple had known each other for years as family friends before they began dating, and got engaged in 2011. Their first child, daughter Klin Kaara Konidela, was born in June 2023, and the announcement of Upasana’s second pregnancy with twins in late 2025 drew widespread celebration from fans of the Konidela family.
Upasana Kamineni Konidela is an entrepreneur and the granddaughter of Prathap C. Reddy, the founder of Apollo Hospitals. She serves as vice chairperson of the Apollo Life division and has built a profile distinct from the film industry through her work in wellness and healthcare. The couple’s decision to keep their children largely out of public view for the first several months follows a pattern set by several high-profile Indian families who have pushed back against the tabloid culture that once made celebrity children’s faces a daily fixture of entertainment coverage.
The anniversary post came during what has been a personally and professionally intense period for Ram Charan. His most recent release, Peddi, a sports drama directed by Buchi Babu Sana and co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, opened on June 4 to Rs 112 crore worldwide in its first three days but faced a sharp weekday drop that tested the film’s recovery against its reported Rs 300 to 350 crore budget. The film also drew a mid-run re-edit after an objectification controversy surrounding certain scenes involving Kapoor.
Ram Charan’s next project, tentatively titled RC17, reunites him with Pushpa director Sukumar. Reports indicate that shooting is expected to begin in July 2026, though the actor has signalled he wants time to recover from the physically demanding Peddi shoot before returning to a set. Meanwhile, his father Chiranjeevi is currently shooting Mega158, an action film directed by Bobby Kolli, in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu.
Chiranjeevi had reacted to the birth of his twin grandchildren in January with a post calling it “a moment of pure joy” for the entire family. The Konidela family, which also includes Ram Charan’s half-brother Varun Tej and cousins Allu Arjun and Sai Dharam Tej, remains one of the most prominent dynasties in Indian cinema. The public unveiling of Shiva Ram and Anveera on the couple’s anniversary adds another chapter to a family whose milestones regularly make national headlines across India.
