Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu: World Wide Business Community (WWBC) successfully conducted its ‘Local to Global’ Export Workshop in Coimbatore, bringing together around 350 aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, manufacturers and professionals interested in exploring opportunities in international trade.
The workshop was designed to simplify the fundamentals of export business and provide participants with a practical understanding of the steps involved in taking products from local markets to potential international customers.
Unlike a conventional seminar, the ‘Local to Global’ workshop adopted an activity-based learning format, enabling participants to work in teams and undertake a series of export-focused exercises. Participants selected products, identified relevant HSN codes and evaluated product potential using the APEX framework. They also used trade data to explore potential international markets and participated in a live exercise focused on identifying prospective overseas buyers.
Practical Exposure to Export Business
A key component of the workshop was the buyer-identification exercise, through which participants used digital research methods to identify actual companies operating in their selected international markets. The programme also incorporated business networking activities and the development of an initial Export Blueprint, encouraging participants to translate the workshop learnings into actionable next steps.
The workshop was led by Apex SK, who guided participants through practical export-learning activities covering product selection, market research, buyer identification and export planning. The event also featured Shiva Mathivanan, Founder of World Wide Business Community (WWBC), who addressed participants on entrepreneurship, business growth and WWBC’s vision of creating a stronger ecosystem for aspiring founders.
WWBC has been building a community around entrepreneurship, networking and business education, with a focus on making business concepts more accessible to first-generation and aspiring entrepreneurs. Its broader mission is to contribute towards creating 10 lakh founders over the next 10 years through business education, community building, networking and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Helping Businesses Explore Global Markets
The ‘Local to Global’ initiative seeks to address one of the key questions faced by aspiring exporters: where to begin. Through guided activities, participants were introduced to practical questions around selecting exportable products, identifying HSN codes, understanding which countries may have demand for their products, finding potential international buyers and developing an initial export action plan.
Speaking about the initiative, the WWBC team said, “Our objective with Local to Global is to help entrepreneurs understand that global business begins with clarity and action. We want participants to leave with a better understanding of their product, potential market, prospective buyers and the next steps they need to take.”
Following the response to the Coimbatore edition, WWBC plans to continue expanding its entrepreneurship and global-business initiatives through workshops, training programmes and community-driven learning experiences across Tamil Nadu.
The Coimbatore edition marks another step in WWBC’s broader vision of creating a platform where aspiring entrepreneurs can learn, connect and explore opportunities beyond their local markets.
