Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Minister of Defense activated the National Guard without Trump’s consent

U.S. Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller announced that he has agreed on a plan to calm the dramatic situation in America. With representatives of the military and civilian authorities, Miller agreed to send the National Guard to the Congress building and announced other measures if necessary.

Miller did it by President Trump, who is the commander of the armed forces.

–   The Chief of Staff, General Milley, and I spoke separately with Vice President Pence, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader McConnell, Senator Schumer, and Hoyer about the situation at the American Capitol – Miller wrote in a statement in which he does not mention Trump.

  • We have activated the National Guard to help the federal and local police forces, in an attempt to resolve the situation peacefully. We are ready to provide additional assistance, if necessary. Our people have sworn to defend the Constitution and our democratic form of government, and that is how they will behave – stated Miller.

Earlier, a supporter of Donald Trump was shot and wounded on Wednesday inside the US Capitol and is in serious condition. The woman entered the building after the current president Donald Trump called his followers to mobilize after not acknowledging his defeat, while Congress was preparing to validate the election won by Joe Biden.
