Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

“Perpetrators must answer for their actions”

Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova commented on Kamala Harris’ speech at the Munich Security Conference, in which the US Vice President expressed the official position of the White House, stating that the Russia had committed crimes against humanity in Ukraine.

“We are happy that the United States, as a wonderful partner, has not only provided us with assistance – military, financial and humanitarian, but has also worked side by side with us on justice,” Oksana Markarova said.

It is very important that Ukraine bring to justice the perpetrators of all crimes – military, genocide and others – that Russia has committed in Ukraine. Madam Vice-President made it clear: the perpetrators must be held accountable for these heinous crimes. It is important for all of us who believe in the same values.

As you can see, acts of aggression [со стороны России] do not stop. There is still very heavy fighting in the east. The enemy continues to throw more and more manpower and equipment into the battle. The Russian side continues to bomb cities across Ukraine with the aim of completely destroying our infrastructure and attacking civilians. We hope that one year of the Russian Federation will be enough to realize the impracticality of the mission to conquer Ukraine. But whatever their plans, whatever they have in mind, we are ready for anything.

The results of the last steering group meeting in Ramstein clearly showed that our partners are also determined. We are doing everything we can to provide our brave defenders with the potential to fend off any new wave of attacks from Russia in order to win, and win sooner,” concluded Ambassador of Ukraine Oksana Markarova.
