Influencer, entrepreneur and former beauty queen Tanja Ýr Ástþórsdóttir has achieved a lot in her short life.
She was elected Miss Iceland in 2013 and founded the company Tanja Ýr Cosmetics in 2015, then only 24 years old. She designed her own false eyelashes which she sold on the site.
She founded the hair brand Glamista Hair at the end of 2020 with her friend Kolbrúna Elma Ragnarsdóttir. She taught courses on marketing and how to build your own brand.
Last September she left Tanja Ýr Cosmetics and decided to focus on Glamista Hair and other projects, like a new podcast show.

Tanja Ýr, who has nearly 36,000 subscribers on Instagram , answered questions from subscribers last night. One asked what advice she would give to herself, 22.
“Stop letting people walk all over me,” she said before continuing:
“People who ‘copy/paste’ giant projects without mentioning the person they were inspired by/helping (I love taking the opportunity to nominate people around me to help and I just love giving folks).
Allow my opinions to be expressed. I used to protect people around me by keeping quiet too often, but today I feel much better at standing up for myself when appropriate. I learned that if I don’t, I don’t care for years.
It’s okay to make mistakes, apologize and move on.
Pretending to have no opinion to keep the peace.”
