The European Asylum Agency spoke of the intense pressure from refugees who received temporary protection in European Union (EU) countries in 2022.
We know that in 2022, almost a million applications were lodged in EU countries, that is to say approximately 966,000 applications for refugee status. This is half as much as the previous year. It is also noted that four million Ukrainian refugees have received temporary protection in the EU. Wrote about it Lenta.ru.
All of this has put significant pressure on national refugee reception systems. We find that Syrians and Afghans, as well as former residents of Turkey and Venezuela, mainly apply for refugee status in Europe.

Earlier it became known that the authorities of the European Union could not find the assets of the Central Bank of Russia in the amount of 300 billion euros, which they wanted to provide as support to Kiev.
